And Wait....

So we had the Stake President push the button on submitting our papers on November 12.  Certainly after all the exciting calls and feelings of being so wanted, and knowing that the Church had received our papers, we would be receiving our call in record time, right?

NO!

We had to continue doing our temple shifts and answering the question, "did you get your call yet?", many times.  We thought certainly we would get it for Thanksgiving.  That would be so cool, right? Have the family all conveniently home for a grand opening......no.

By Thanksgiving our feelings of being all special were starting to wear off. (big frowning faces).  But then on Saturday after the big feed we do get our call from Elder Waddell.  Okay, we can feel special again.  He is a very kind, uplifting man.  But the caller ID said San Diego Californa so that was a little disconcerting but John answered his phone and it was a great conversation. We are again having feelings of an impending call coming, but hold on, not so fast.  The very next day the Stake President runs into us at our neice's homecoming and pulls us aside to tell us, "Oh good, I had you on my list to call.  I got a call from the mission department this week.  They wanted me to know they had 'something else in mind' for you.  I just wanted to let you know so you won't be disappointed when you get your call".  WHAT DOES THAT MEAN??!!

So certainly our calls should be coming any day now,...... um, no, again.  We had to keep hounding the Stake Clerk again about the status of our papers (he can see the status)... READY TO BE ASSIGNED.......

Back to the waiting.....

Remember we are not paitent people.....?. the application pages clearly state 4-6 weeks for Senior Missionaires.  You would have thought it was way past that time frame but alas, no, it has only been 2 and 1/2 weeks..... forever, ugh!!!!

  1. OKAY, YOU CAN'T POST A MEXICO FLAG AND NOT POST ABOUT OPENING YOUR CALL...... THAT TOTALLY RUINS THE SUSPENSE.
