Now that it has calmed down .... for a moment, it is time to catch up on a few posts that have been delayed.
The end of August we had to opportunity to travel with an Apostle. Elder D. Todd Christofferson was making an Area visit to Mexico. It was a wonderful, terrifying, uplifting, exhausting experience.
We received the assignment on Wednesday the 19th and flew to Veracruz Friday the 21st. The visit from visiting auhorities is scheduled heavily. They travel as much is logistically and physically possible to see as many missionaries and saints as possible.
Saturday there was the Veracruz Mission Conference, 2 hours. Followed by a Priesthood Leadership Conference, 4 hours. Followed by a youth fireside, 2 hours. In between is squeezed meals and meeting meals with presidents of missions and stakes.
My assignment is to document with photos. John's assignment is to document in text with the notes of the meetings, except the meals. That is a hard barrier to break, the intrusive nature of the wandering photographer, to get different angles and faces, meeting the people of the area. John could just quietly enjoy from the corners.

CCM

Hey, we found an AZ boy that just arrived from home.
Waving goodbye......
as the next batch arrives. Sadness for them as they miss getting to see Elder Christofferson by mere Minutes. Or is the sadness what they saw as the drove from the airport to the CCM?
